Official photos reveal an Air Jordan 1 Mid “Siempre Familia” that is set to release for Nike’s 2021 Dia de Los Muertos collection. This sneaker incorporates Aztec themes, as Dia de Los Muertos was formed from Aztec ideals.
The upper of the Air Jordan 1 Mid comes mixed with matte black suede and matching overlays embossed with Jaguar print, a cultural nod to the Aztec Jaguar Warriors. The toebox of the sneaker comes in a bright orange-red and is embellished with tiny razor teeth on the edge of the toe caps. Instead of a traditional leather overlay, the Nike Swoosh comes embroidered in a rainbow arrow design that honors the religious deities of the indigenous Aztec culture.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid “Siempre Familia” releases October 24 on SNKRS in Mexico, October 26 on the Nike App in Mexico, and October 29 globally. The retail price is set at $125. For more Air Jordan releases and updates on all your favorite sneakers, follow @NiceKicks on Instagram.
